- Be sure you have a quiet space dedicated to your business.
Close the door if you must!!
That means no children calling out for you, no neighbors knocking at your door to interupt you, no adult parents you may be caring for asking for assistance, not even a spouse or partner interupting, no phone calls, etc.
Distractions and interuptions simply will not get it!
- Be focused.
Perhaps it is spring and the beautiful weather beckons you to your garden... You must be able to redirect your thoughts back to your project at hand, even though you don't have a boss watching over you. If you are unable to keep that crucial focus, you're business will not succeed.
- Always be professional
You are in business. Your client expects nothing short of professionalism!
- Put in the hours
Any new business requires an excess of hours. You need to be prepared to put in the hours required to not just please your client, but provide exceptional service!!
- Do the research
What are other businesses charging for the same type of service or product? How are they marketing their business? How successful are they?
